Writing is hard enough. My first few books aren't perfectly edited (and there are several bad versions out there), but I'd prefer readers or businesses not solicit proofreading or editing services. I'm at a place in my self-publishing business where I pay for a copy editor and a proofreader to fine-tune my work before I release it to the world. Besides, someone offering to proofread should line edit their email* before declaring that an author's publications are appalling.
